The Servant of God
Read Job 1:1 through 4:21
Raymond faithfully drove his family to church every Sunday. One morning, they passed a man struggling to change his car’s flat tire. Raymond stopped his car, and hopped out to help the man. Raymond’s son, Fred, protested, “We are going to be late for church!” After the man was safely on his way, Raymond told Fred, “We must always help someone in need whenever we can.” With actions and words Raymond taught Fred to be a servant.
“Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright” (Job 1:.
God presented Job to Satan as an example of righteousness. When Christians examine their lives, how do they measure up? Are they blameless in their conversations or do they gossip? Do they seek justice or remain silent? As Christians live in compassionate service to others, they point people to Jesus, and Jesus’ love pours from them like water to the thirsty.
Prayer Suggestion: Lord, help me to seek opportunities to serve others as You did.

The servant of God
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world. (James 1:27)
